NXT New Years Evil 2026 took place this past Tuesday from the WWE Performance Center in Orlando, it definitely was an interesting two hours of television so let's talk about it, shout out to SmackDown's newest signing, Trick Williams.
Thea Hail was due to wrestle Blake Monroe in the opening contest, however, Blake had other ideas and attacked the NXT Women's North American Champion, Blake was banned from the arena by Ava, this could be the last time we see Blake here on NXT as she has been rumoured to go to RAW or SmackDown.
Tatum Paxley got some revenge by picking up a win against her former friend, Izzi Dame.
Jacy Jayne's run as NXT Women's Champion continues, she has now added the Evolve Women's Champion Kendal Grey to the list of opponents she has defeated during her two reigns.
Thea Hail's decision to put the NXT Women's North American Championship on the line in an open challenge came back to haunt her because Izzi Dame answered the challenge and won the title. Congratulations to Izzi for this achievement, it's Dame Time on NXT.
Oba Femi successfully defended the NXT Championship against TNA X-Division Champion Leon Slater, we almost saw a new champion but Oba kicked out at two point nine nine seconds, this was a great effort from Leon.
It looks like The Ruler of NXT has vacated the title because we saw a close up of the NXT Championship on the mat in the ring whilst his theme music was playing, that was a cool visual/scene, it also looks like he is on his way to the "main roster" we could see Oba on SmackDown tomorrow night/evening in Germany where he costs Drew the opportunity to win the WWE Championship from Cody as payback on Drew for him interfering in the Oba versus Cody match at the last Saturday Night's Main Event.
