Let's (try to) Talk About | AEW Full Gear

All Elite Wrestling presented Full Gear this past Saturday at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey, let's try to talk about the main card matches that took place that night.

The PPV began with the Fatal Four for the Tag Team Championships, Private Party walked out to "Shots" their vintage theme from back in the day, before they successfully defended the titles against The Outrunners, Malakai Black & Brody King of House of Black and Max Caster & Anthony Bowens, who are on the brink of splitting up, not everyone loves the Acclaimed nowadays.

MJF made Roderick Strong tap out via submission, it has to be said that Adam Cole's attempt to save Roderick was very poorly timed, he chased off MJF, Kyle O'Reilly pushed down Cole, my apologies for the language when I say that this story is a** backwards, are we supposed to forget Cole was the "Devil?" and all of a sudden we're supposed to show sympathy towards him? no disrespect to Adam, I blame the creative team for this.

Mercedes Mone put the TBS Championship on the line against Kris Statlander, this was perhaps Mercedes best match since joining this company, that's fair to say right? Full Gear was the venue for Jay White's fifth win against Adam Page, this wouldn't be the last time we saw these guys on the night.

Kyle Fletcher versus Will Ospreay was perhaps the best match of the night, the only gripe I have about this contest is it should have been over after Kyle hit Will with the Tombstone Piledriver, on the Steel Steps, this win for Kyle puts him on the map, the creative team must make him a true contender to win the upcoming Continental Classic Tournament, depending on the format and route, a final between Kyle and Will would be great to tune in and watch.

Daniel Garcia won the TNT Championship from Jack Perry, the crowd sounded like they were very disinterested in this match, whereas Konosuke Takeshita versus Ricochet should have been on an episode of Dynamite because it was similar to Fletcher versus Ospreay.

"The All Mighty" Bobby Lashley made a statement by winning his debut pay per view match against former AEW Champion Swerve Strickland via the Hurt Lock, The Hurt Syndicate took out Prince Nana, Swerve stopped the attack, this story isn't over yet, hopefully we will see a tag team match of MVP & Bobby Lashley versus Swerve & Prince Nana.

Jon Moxley, with the assist from Wheeler Yuta, defeated Orange Cassidy, to remain the AEW Champion, no disrespect to Orange when I say he was never going to win the title, maybe in the future he will, we will see about that, now let's talk about the chaos and confusion in regards to what happened in the ring next, we saw some storyline continuation (which is something that some fans have criticised this company for) especially when we saw Christian and Adam Page, followed by Jay White.

If my memory is correct, Christian promised Page a title shot if he ever became Champion and the reason as to why Jay got involved, it's because Christian cost him a match during the last Continental Classic Tournament, the visual of Darby Allin crashing into the Death Riders car closed out the show, this was something we would usually see on an episode of Dynamite.

This conversation in regards to Full Gear is now over, thanks for reading, be sure to check out the archives on this website.
