Grand Slam was broadcast LIVE from Arthur Ashe Stadium in New York City, the home of the US Open, this event had the prospect of being Ace. 

Weeks ago on AEW TV, Nigel McGuinness issued a challenge to longtime rival Bryan Danielson, with no answer, McGuinness tried to gain victory via the referee's ten count until we heard The Final CountDown and saw the AEW Champion, Danielson walk out to the ring, the Champion went on to be victorious via submission.

Christian Cage was about to cash in his opportunity for the Championship until Kip Sabian stopped that from happening.

Hook defeated Undisputed Kingdom's Roderick Strong, they shook hands as a mark of respect to each other, Hook said the FTW Championship is officially retired, he then shared a great moment with his Dad, Tazz.

The Young Bucks defeated Will Ospreay and Kyle Fletcher, this was a PPV calibre match, there will be some more tension between Kyle Fletcher and Will Ospreay after The Bruv stopped Fletcher from hitting the opponents with a screwdriver.

Prince Nana gave an update on Swerve Strickland, he said the former World Champion is not currently cleared to compete.

MVP reintroduced himself as he made a surprise appearance on stage, he blamed Nana for what has happened to Swerve, MVP handed Nana a card just in case Swerve wanted to talk.....Business. 

AEW Women's Champion, "The Glamour" Mariah May, defeated Yuka Sakazaki via Storm Zero,in the co main event.

Willow Nightingale ran down to confront Mariah after the match, who was distracted by Mina Shirakawa's music hitting, we could see a tag match of Willow & Yuka versus Mariah & Mina on a future episode of Dynamite.

Jon Moxley defeated Darby Allin earned the opportunity to wrestle for the AEW Championship at WrestleDream on October 12th.

Let's Talk About | SmackDown

Welcome back to the blog, if you are new? hello and welcome. WWE Week on the USA Network started with Monday Night RAW, followed by NXT, ending with SmackDown. Triple H kicked off the show, it was time to play the game. 

Prior to the show start, we knew that the Steel Cage match for the WWE Championship was going to be the first of the night, Cody won via the CrossRhodes, this was a very good match, Tama Tonga, Tonga Loa and Jacob Fatu, the x-factor of Bloodline 2.0 surrounded the ring and entered the cage to attack Cody until Roman's music hit, they shouldn't have changed it by the way, whilst Roman was fighting, we saw a tease of a future match between Roman and Jacob, until Solo dragged Jacob out of the cage. 

Mia Yim (aka Michin) defeated Piper Niven, Piper and Chelsea Green attacked Michin afterwards, are we going to see Michin versus Chelsea next week? we shall see of course. 

Kevin Owens and returning Randy Orton defeated Austin Theory and Grayson Waller, after hitting a Stunner and RKO' at the same time. 

We saw a montage of images of SmackDown throughout the years, with stars from the past and present sitting in the crowd. 

The WWE Women's Champion Nia Jax cut a in-ring promo, during that she mentioned the title will be on the line against an unknown opponent, which was revealed to be Bayley, Tiffany and Naomi joined the conversation which resulted in a tag team match playa in the near future with a loser leaves SmackDown stipulation. 

Earlier in the night, Cody said to the General Manager he was done with the Bloodline, Nick Aldis mentioned Roman will be addressing the situation after Andrade vs Carmelo Hayes, they delivered another "banger" shoutout to Sheamus, of a match, won by El Idolo. he will be the next challenger for LA Knight's United States Championship. YEAH! 

Bianca & Jade, the Women's Tag Team Champions, sent out a message to every team in the division. 

Roman Reigns talked to the crowd for the first time since WrestleMania, he was interrupted by Cody. the two fought off Tama Tonga and Tonga Loa whilst Solo and Jacob watched on, Roman and Cody signed the contract, the tag team match was made official for Bad Blood, which sent shockwaves throughout social media.    

Let's Talk About | NXT No Mercy

 

Welcome back to the blog, if you are new? hello and welcome, NXT No Mercy took place from the Ball Arena in Denver, Colorado. It was nice to see NXT away from the Performance Center, looking forward to watching their shows on the road in October. Let's begin the conversation.

Axiom & Nathan Frazer are the NEW NXT Tag Team Champions, congratulations to them, Ridge Holland, unsurprisingly, turned against his now former Chase U team mates, he showed No Mercy, pun intended, the question is, like with all stories in wrestling, what's next?

TNA Wrestling's X-Division Champion, Zachary Wentz & Wes Lee tore the house down here, Trey Miguel appeared ringside to stop Wes from striking Zachary with a steel chair, who went on to win, The Rascalz then challenged Axiom & Frazer for the NXT tag team championships, Wes could cause interference. 

Kelani Jordan is still the Women's North American Champion, defeating Wendy Choo via the Split-Legged Moonsault, we will wait and see who Kelani's next challenger is, whereas it seems as though Tatum Paxley and Wendy will be continuing their rivalry. 

In the other North American Championship Match, Champion Oba Femi took on Tony D'Angelo, who was looking to gain an advantage by having his family at ringside, this was an obstacle Oba successfully passed. 

Roxanne Perez put the NXT Women's Championship on the line against rising star, Jaida Parker, Parker was very close to pulling off a "shock" win until Roxanne's experience showed, as she won via Pop Rox, while Roxanne was celebrating, we saw her next challenger, the debut of Giulia, she had a Scarlett Bordeaux vibe when she walked to the the ring.

The thousands in attendance and the millions watching at home were ready to watch and believe in Joe Hendry win the NXT Championship, their hopes were dashed at the end of the night as Ethan Page won after he saw Trick getting distracted by the referee that was knocked out of the ring. Trick was then attacked by Pete Dunne, the two will face each other on the next episode of NXT.

Let's Talk About | Bash In Berlin

After a 27 year absence, the WWE returned to Germany, it was time for a party, at the Bash In Berlin. 

Cody Rhodes versus Kevin Owens opened the show, they were on the same page to start the match, we saw some close near falls for Kevin, he began to be frustrated, Cody won to remain the WWE Champion, as expected, the two hugged in the ring, whether we see a rematch between the two remains to be seen. 

We have NEW Women's Tag Team Champions, Jade Cargill & Bianca Belair defeated Alba Fyre & Isla Dawn to get their "revenge" as it were, from Clash at the Castle from Scotland, earlier this year. 

Speaking of revenge, CM Punk won the Strap Match against Drew McIntyre by lighting up all four corners of the ring, Punk retrieved the bracelet from Drew's wrist, hopefully we get to see them in a cage at Bad Blood in October, although, Punk mentioned in an interview after the match the feud is over, we shall see of course.

Damian Priest & Rhea Ripley vs Dom Mysterio & Liv Morgan got off to a slow start, however, in the words of the legendary Jim Ross, "business picked up" when Finn Balor and JD McDonagh ran down to the ring in an attempt to help Dom & Liv, this was unsuccessful as Rhea pinned Liv in the ring to win the match for her and Damian and to also have a shout for a future Women's World Championship opportunity. 

Randy Orton made his way to the ring to challenge Gunther for the World Heavyweight Championship, the crowd singing his theme song was nice to hear, they cheered Gunther as expected, the crowd continued when the Challenger and Champion were in the ring, Orton applauded them, he probably wanted them to stop, jokes aside, this was an excellent main event, The Ring General continues his reign, Orton and Gunther showed respect to each other after the match before the show closed out.
