Let's Talk About | Clash At The Castle - Scotland

Clash at the Castle was LIVE from Glasgow, Scotland. The crowd in attendance were hoping to see all of their home country stars walk out as champions, did they get their wish? Let's talk about the PLE.

The opening match was Cody Rhodes versus AJ Styles in a "I Quit" match, for the Undisputed WWE Championship, it was a good contest, with some very predictable spots, The American Nightmare was always going to win here against the Phenomenal One, as certain fans have talked about Rhodes having the title until WrestleMania 41, we might see a successful Money In The Bank cash in for that specific prize between July and April.

After the match, Solo Sikoa met Rhodes in the entrance way, Rhodes was attacked by Tama Tonga and Tonga Loa. Randy Orton and Kevin Owens ran out to equal things, it looks as though we might see a six man tag, either on an episode of SmackDown, or at Money In The Bank.

Congratulations to Alba Fyre & Isla Dawn for winning the Women's Tag Team Championship for the first time, they were very emotional, as expected, it's great to see the duo get their flowers and respect for their work and effort, hopefully they will have a decent reign.

Sami Zayn is still the Intercontinental Champion, after he picked up a victory against Chad Gable, shoutout to the crowd here, they had some very interesting chants, the other story in this feud is the one between Gable and Otis, a lot of people expect Otis to wake up and smell the coffee, however, the thought here is, The Creed Brothers and Ivy Nile joining Gable in the future.

Bayley put the Women's Championship on the line against Scotland's own, Piper Niven, who was accompanied to the ring by Chelsea Green, she, like Piper, is a underrated talent on the roster, this was a fun match, Bayley picked up the win and acknowledged Piper's performance, who got a deserved ovation from the crowd, which was great to see.

It was now time for the main event of the evening, Damian Priest versus Drew McIntyre, for the World Heavyweight Championship, the question that everyone was asking and wondering, could we see a new champion crowned in front of the home crowd? the answer was no, because towards the end of the match, the referee was knocked down and out of the ring, Drew hit the Claymore, another referee ran down to the ring, for the one, two, the count stopped, we saw it was CM Punk, Drew looked on in shock, Punk then attacked Drew, Damian hit the South of Heaven Chokeslam for the win.

The crowd was in shock, the reactions in the arena and on social media were very interesting indeed to see and read, because some fans did not get the the result they wanted, let's see what happens next, starting this Monday Night on WWE RAW.

Let's Talk About | NXT Battleground

For the first time ever, a WWE/NXT event was held at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas, let's talk about the action from Sunday Night (Monday morning here in the U.K)

History was made, as Kelani Jordan won the Ladder Match and was crowned as the first ever NXT Women's North American Champion, it was a great show opener, shoutout to everyone involved in this match.

Nathan Frazer & Axiom defeated Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson of The O.C to retain the NXT Tag Team Championship, it will be interesting to see who the next challengers will be.

Lola Vice won the Underground Match against Shayna Baszler, this win really and truly puts Vice's name in the hat as a serious contender for one of the Women's Championships in NXT.

Oba Femi successfully defended the NXT North American Championship, his strength and power proved to be too much for Wes Lee and Joe Coffey on this occasion.

The co-main event saw Roxanne Perez defend the NXT Women's Championship against TNA Knockouts World Champion, Jordynne Grace, it was an evenly contested match until the final moments, as Tatum Paxley grabbed and ran away with the Knockouts Championship, Paxley was stopped by TNA's Ash by Elegance (aka Dana Brooke from WWE) Grace grabbed the title from Ash, went back into the ring where Perez hit Pop Rox for the win.

There has been talk/rumours of a WWE & TNA partnership, which has started with Jordynne Grace appearing on WWE TV on NXT, Tatum Paxley could be appearing on TNA Wrestling to challenge Jordynne Grace for the Knockouts Championship in the near future.

Trick Williams defeated Ethan Page to remain NXT Champion in the main event, this was an excellent match, the standout moment was Page putting Trick through the announce table, Trick later hit The Trick Shot for the pinfall victory, Trick was joined by the host of Battleground, Sexyy Red, to celebrate his win as the show went off the air.

NXT Battleground was a very good PLE to watch, it's a shame we didn't see a match take place inside the UFC Octagon, which was a missed opportunity considering where the event was held, however, in the words of The Final Boss, The Rock. It doesn't matter.

The NXT TV shows and PLE's have been cooking lately, looking forward to seeing what happens in the weeks leading up to Heatwave in Toronto on July 7.
